Monson Savings Bank presents a $2,500 Donation to The Women's Empowerment Scholarship

Dan Moriarty, Monson Savings Bank President and future CEO, visited with Cori Medeiros, Vice President of The Women’s Empowerment Scholarship to present a $2,500 donation.

Monson Savings Bank recently contributed $2,500 to The Women’s Empowerment Scholarship following the public voting results of the 2021 Monson Savings Bank Community Giving Initiative. Dan Moriarty, President and future CEO of Monson Savings Bank met with Cori Medeiros, Vice President of The Women’s Empowerment Scholarship, to present the donation on behalf of Monson Savings Bank.

“The public has submitted their votes through the Community Giving Initiative and they have chosen The Women’s Empowerment Scholarship as a 2021 donation recipient,” said Dan Moriarty, President and future CEO of Monson Savings Bank. “We are proud to contribute to this organization and are thrilled that this donation will help support a woman in our local communities to achieve her education goals.”

As a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, The Women's Empowerment Scholarship serves to empower females by encouraging and enabling them to pursue higher education. The foundation provides educational grants to women while paying special attention to women entering into one of many male-dominated career paths, including, but not limited to, science, technology, engineering, finance, and law. In aiding women financially, the Women's Empowerment Scholarship team aims to propel their careers and allow them to shatter any and all glass ceilings and stereotypes. “It means the world to have support from my hometown bank,” said Bailey Medeiros, President and Founder of The Women’s Empowerment Scholarship. “Each year, our team works hard to raise money for the cause. This year, due to the pandemic, we faced many challenges in doing so, including not being able to host our major fundraising event. Despite these difficult times, Monson Saving Bank’s contribution makes it possible for us to continue to award females educational grants. To me, this means carrying on the nonprofit’s legacy and my passion of helping to propel females into their future careers. We’re proud of the work we do and the impact we have on females who receive our scholarships, none of which would be possible without our supporters. I can’t thank Monson Savings Bank enough for once again hosting their Community Giving Initiative and giving the opportunity for a small organization like ours to receive funding.”
