Monson Savings Bank President and future CEO Dan Moriarty recently presented a $1,000 donation to Laurie Flynn, Link to Libraries President and CEO. The donation was made as a part of the 2021 Monson Savings Bank Community Giving Initiative, where the public could submit their votes to support their favorite local charitable organizations.

“Link to Libraries is such a wonderful local organization that Monson Savings Bank is proud to continually partner with over the years,” said Dan Moriarty, President and future CEO. “Through this organization, many children, some who may not otherwise have access to books, are given the power of reading. With the books provided by Link to Libraries, children’s literacy and language skills are positively impacted, in turn helping them to succeed both in school and throughout life.”

Link To Libraries, based out of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to distribute new books to the school and home libraries of children in need. By increasing a child's access to books, Link to Libraries strives to enhance the language and literacy skills of children of all cultural backgrounds. Since Link to Libraries inception in 2008, the organization has put over 500,000 new books into the hands and homes of school children, the vast majority of whom have never previously owned a book.
