MSB Employee Spotlight: Carolyn Balicki

Wilbraham Branch Manager and Retail Banking Officer

If you don’t know already, we have amazing employees at Monson Savings Bank and we want you get to know them. The MSB Employee Spotlight is an ongoing series highlighting the achievements, hard work, fun details and individual traits that make Monson Savings Bank employees so great!

I am a banker, a mom of two little boys, an avid shopper, a volunteer, and a relatively good cook!

What is your role at Monson Savings Bank and how do you help your customers?

My role is to lead the Wilbraham Branch Team to make sure that every customers’ needs are met. I try to listen carefully to each customers’ needs as there may be a convenient service or product that Monson Savings Bank can offer to make their life a bit easier.

What do you like most about your position?

I love servicing all of my customers, of course, but one of my favorite things is to interact and educate with younger generations, and helping them learn how to bank! I love getting teens set up with their banking needs, whether it is a savings account or their first checking account, and making sure they are well informed to start using the products and services. This sets them up for a positive financial future and can make a huge difference in their long term financial success.

How long have you been with Monson Savings Bank?

I’ve been with Monson Savings Bank for 14 years!

What are the top things you love about MSB?

I love how Monson Savings Bank is community driven and we make decisions right here locally! Our customers are always our top priority, whether it’s the people in the branches, or even in the back office operations, everyone knows our customers are #1!

How do you feel connected to the local communities?

I’ve been on the Advisory Board at the Scantic Valley YMCA for 5 years now and have also volunteered for other local non-profits throughout the years. I’m always looking for ways Monson Savings bank can be involved in local events, such as at the Fountain Park Summer Concert Series, Peach Blossom Festival, Wilbraham Children Museum events and more! I love being out in the communities!

How do you feel at the end of the day after helping customers?

As long as my customers are happy, I am happy! Being able to connect to customers is really important to me. Being able to listen to them and then offer something they could benefit from is truly amazing.

What are your roots?

I grew up in Wilbraham and now I am raising my family here and working here. I am fully invested and understand how special the community of Wilbraham, and the surrounding neighborhoods are.

Tell us about your family or friends and what they mean to you.

My family and friends mean everything to me! I’m the youngest of three, so I have an older brother and sister. I’ve been happily married to my husband for 5 years now and have two little boys. We are fortunate to live close to both sides of our families so we are very connected.

What values are most important to you to uphold?

Respect, Honesty and Trust.

What are your hobbies?

Keeping my children busy, cooking and baking, shopping, and in the summer time – swimming!

Favorite music?

I love all music… Hip Hop is #1 but not a big country girl!

Favorite meal?

A New Favorite is Tuscan Sundried Tomato Chicken @halfbakedharvest

Can you play any instruments?

Oh, no, no!

Do you volunteer anywhere?
