Monson Savings Bank Donates $1,000 to Wilbraham United Players
Dan Moriarty, Monson Savings Bank President and CEO, met with Shelly Capen, Wilbraham United Players’ President, at Monson Savings Bank’s Wilbraham Branch to present her with the donation.
Recently, Monson Savings Bank President and CEO Dan Moriarty met with Shelly Capen, President of Wilbraham United Players, to present her with a $1,000 donation. This donation was a part of Monson Savings Bank’s annual Community Giving Initiative.
The Bank’s Community Giving Initiative puts the power in the hands of the people, calling on the public to place their votes for their favorite charitable organization. After votes are tallied, the community bank graciously donates to the top vote recipients.
“The Wilbraham United Players is a wonderful local organization that brings creativity and culture to the surrounding communities through theatre,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO. “We are happy to present this donation in support of the local arts and look forward to the Wilbraham United Players upcoming shows!”
Since 1956, the Wilbraham United Players have been entertaining audiences of all ages with musicals, comedies, and dramas. This Wilbraham based non-profit group brings together people of all generations, cultures, and backgrounds from throughout the Pioneer Valley. Originally the theatre group focused primarily on Gilbert and Sullivan, performing an operetta every other year through 1984. In recent years, Wilbraham United Players’ repertoire has expanded to include well-loved hits, like Chicago, Steel Magnolias, Guys and Dolls, The Pirates of Penzance, The Great Gatsby, and The Light in the Piazza. “We are very grateful to our community members for voting in Monson Savings’ Community Giving Initiative! Without you, we wouldn’t be receiving this generous donation. As a small organization, we are reliant on the support of the community to operate,” said Shelly Capen, Wilbraham United Players’ President. “Thank you to Monson Savings for once again hosting their Community Giving Initiative!”
