Monson Savings Bank Coordinates Over $8,000 in Donations to United Way of Pioneer Valley

Monson Savings Bank has long held that one of its main responsibilities as a community bank is to be a virtuous corporate citizen by giving back to the communities where they conduct business. One of the many ways that Monson Savings Bank gives back to their communities is with their various, annual efforts to support local non-profit, United Way of the Pioneer Valley.

Every year the Bank’s Human Resources Department organizes a donation and pledge drive to benefit the United Way of Pioneer Valley. The annual Monson Savings Bank United Way Campaign and online pledge drive runs for two weeks. During this time employees are invited to donate to United Way via a onetime donation or pledge a reoccurring deduction from their payroll for the upcoming year. During the recent campaign, Monson Savings’ generous employees donated and pledged a total of $5,242.

Beyond the annual pledge drive, this year Monson Savings Bank employees raised an additional $1,175 through a fun, but competitive, internal bingo game and $700 through the Bank’s TGIF Dress Down Program. The community bank also provided United Way’s Chicopee Food Cupboard with a $1,000 sponsorship, non-perishable food donations made by employees, and volunteers for their Thanksgiving meal distribution. In total, Monson Savings has helped to donate over $8,000 to United Way this year.

“The challenges of the past several years have been enormous for many of our neighbors. We have an amazingly generous team of employees at Monson Savings Bank who are committed to supporting our communities. I am proud of their contributions to United Way, and it is our heartfelt honor to help,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO of Monson Savings Bank.

For more than 90 years, United Way of Pioneer Valley has held a reputation as the fundraiser for the local communities. However, United Way doesn’t just raise money; today’s United Way is a focused, results-driven system that works year-round to change community conditions and create lasting solutions. United Way impacts the local communities today and helps to build the foundation for tomorrow. They work to support a thriving, caring region where individuals have opportunities to realize their potential, become economically self-sufficient, and contribute collectively to improve the quality of life in their communities. By connecting the community and through strong partnerships and with volunteers, local businesses, government and nonprofit organizations, United Way accomplishes what no one can do alone. They mobilize people and resources to strengthen our communities. Learn more about United Way of Pioneer Valley at: www.uwpv.org
