Monson Savings Bank was thrilled to learn that their nomination helped the Springfield non-profit to be granted a $5,000 donation.

“Monson Savings Bank is happy and humbled to have a partnership with Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services. The work that this organization does for the Springfield community is outstanding,” said Dan Moriarty.  “We commend MLK, Jr. Family Services for the diligent work that they do to make the world a better place. From helping our youth with their various programs, to their food pantry, and more, the work that they do is truly making an impact.”

The contribution from the Massachusetts Bankers Association will support Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Service’s various programs. Specifically, this donation will help support their annual Historical Black College and University tour and Emergency Food Pantry.

"On behalf of Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dan Moriarty for nominating us and the Massachusetts Bankers Association for their generous donation,” said Patricia Bernard, Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services, VP Finance and Operations. “This donation will help us to continue our various programs, which include after-school literacy-based programming, the College Readiness Academy, Historical Black Colleges and Universities tour, Public Health and Teen Leadership, Violence Prevention, and more. This donation in particular will help boost our Emergency Food Pantry, which has unfortunately taken a hit due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
