MSB Employee Spotlight: Kylie LaPlante

Business Development Officer

If you don’t know already, we have amazing employees at Monson Savings Bank and we want you get to know them. The MSB Employee Spotlight is an ongoing series highlighting the achievements, hard work, fun details and individual traits that make Monson Savings Bank employees so great!


Here is what Kylie had to share about her life and experiences.

I am a banker, a leader, a listener, a cheerleader / motivator and a dog mom.

What is your role at Monson Savings Bank and how do you help your customers?

My role as Business Development Officer is to help my customers save time and money. I hope to find solutions to make their banking easy and convenient. Business owners are so busy and are pulled in many different directions each day. I want to make sure that their banking is never a worry or stressor for them.

 

What do you like most about your position?

I like being able to meet new people that work in different industries, and learn about those industries, which is often so interesting and fun. I have gotten to visit some really remarkable places. I like being able to help my customers and make their lives easier.

 

How long have you been with Monson Savings Bank?

I have worked at Monson Savings Bank for 9 years. 

 

What do you like about Monson Savings Bank?

I love the team at Monson Savings Bank, and the caring environment, both internal and external. It is fun to work with all of the departments, and have such open communication between the teams. I have made lifelong friends while working at Monson Savings Bank. I also love the opportunity to grow and develop through the bank.

 

How do you feel connected to the local communities?

In my current position, I am able to travel to our different locations and work with the many communities we service. Being able to work with our business customers, I feel this is a great opportunity to support local. I have also enjoyed being connected through volunteering to read in the schools, by teaching financial literacy, or attending events at the local senior centers. 

 

How do you feel at the end of the day after helping customers? 

I feel joy. The most rewarding days are working with customers that may be going through difficulties or struggles, and being able to not only find solutions for them but to just be there for them. It always makes me so happy to hear stories of how an employee at Monson Savings Bank made a customer’s day!

 

What are your roots?

I was born and raised in Chicopee, MA. I currently live in Ludlow, MA. 

 

Tell us about your family or friends and what they mean to you.

They are my biggest supporters, and are there throughout every new endeavor I take on. I cannot think of a time when they weren’t there to support, guide and/or cheer me on. I am very lucky!

 

What values are most important to you to uphold?

Dependability, Integrity, Sincerity and Honesty.

 

What are your hobbies?

I love watching movies, shopping, decorating and spending time with my new puppy!

 

Favorite music?

I like everything except for country music, but The Lumineers and Lady Gaga are my favorites.

 

Favorite meal?

Ice cream, even though it isn’t technically a meal. 

 

Do you volunteer anywhere?

I have proudly volunteered for the ERC5 and Links to Libraries, two amazing organizations in our communities.
