Sara Rodrigues & Bridget Bunce Named Monson Savings Bank President's Award Recipients

Monson Savings Bank, a bank that has served local communities for more than 150 years, has proudly announced its second annual President’s Award recipients. This highly distinguished award has been presented to Assistant Vice President Commercial Loan Operations Officer Sara Rodrigues and Bank Secrecy Analyst (BSA) Bridget Bunce.
The Monson Savings Bank President’s award was developed by the Bank’s Employee Recognition Committee. The Committee consists of employees who represent all areas of the Bank. The goal of the Committee is to further the recognition of the Monson Savings Bank team for their outstanding performance. The President’s Award is just one of the many ways employees are recognized and rewarded for their commitment to the values, mission, and overall success of the Bank.
The President’s Award is an opportunity to acknowledge those who consistently represent Monson Savings Bank’s mission and values through their commitment to customer service, the community, teamwork, and excellence. A candidate for the President’s Award displays a positive approach and willingness to help, shows respect for themselves and others, and demonstrates honesty and integrity, all while delivering service with warmth, friendliness, and individual pride to customers and colleagues.
“I am thrilled to announce that Sara and Bridget have been selected as recipients of the prestigious 2024 President’s Award. While it was difficult to choose just two recipients with a team full of all stars, Sara and Bridget clearly demonstrate the qualities set forth as the President’s Award standards,” said Dan Moriarty, Monson Savings Bank President & CEO. “We all are incredibly proud of both of them and wish to congratulate them on their accomplishments as community leaders and role models.”
During a special ceremony at Monson Savings Bank’s recent Annual Meeting, the two recipients were announced to Officers, Trustees, and Corporators of the Bank.
Sara Rodrigues joined the Monson Savings Bank family in February 2013 and currently serves as the Assistant Vice President, Commercial Operations Officer. She consistently represents the Bank at many local events and has volunteered for numerous organizations such as Revitalize CDC, the United Way of Pioneer Valley, and I Found Light Against All Odds. Here are some of the comments made by Rodrigues’ colleagues who nominated her for the President’s Award:

“She is experienced in her field; she is dedicated; she is a problem solver; she is honest in everything she does; and she is committed to excellence. Sara works day in and day out to make sure that her decisions and actions help to ensure the future success of the Monson Savings Bank.”
“Sara is not only a good officer, but a good person. She does what is right for the Bank, and she ensures that everyone is included. She organizes events for her department, the LOC as a whole and makes MSB a good place to work. She is truly a role model at the Bank.”
“Sara is an extremely hard worker. Any time I have asked for her opinion or help, she effectively balances her day-to-day duties and the new task. I never doubt when something is assigned to her that it will get done. She truly has the best interests of the Bank in everything she does.”
Bridget Bunce started with Monson Savings in October 2021 as a Deposit Operations Administrator and was awarded her current BSA Analyst position in August 2023. Bunce is always eager to lend a hand and has helped at several Bank sponsored events in 2022 and 2023. Here are some of the comments made by employees who nominated Bridget:
“Bridget is always a team player whenever it may not be in her field of work. She is always helpful in finding solutions or directing you to where you might need to go in order to find the answer. Even when she may be swamped with a lot of work herself, she always finds time to be professional and helpful whenever someone asks her. She is also extremely dedicated to customer service, whenever a customer may call or reach out to her, she is always quick with a response and always carries a professional manner.”
“Bridget is reliable, helpful, smart, and friendly. She is kind to everyone and welcomed me onto the team with open arms.”
“Bridget time and time again helps her immediate coworkers and employees from other departments. Bridget is always willing to help others even when it is outside the normal scope of her duties because she truly cares about others and wants to help others be successful. She helps others without any complaint or expecting anything in return. Bridget shows patience, understanding, respect, and warmth when she is aiding others. Bridget has minimal customer interaction through her position related responsibilities, but she enjoys being able to give back to the community through volunteering when the opportunity arises.”
The Monson Savings Bank President’s Award will continue to be an annual tradition, with employees being nominated by their peers, resulting in two final selected recipients. It surely will become one of the Bank’s many beloved traditions.
