MSB Employee Spotlight: Sara Rodrigues

If you don’t know already, we have amazing employees at Monson Savings Bank and we want you get to know them. The MSB Employee Spotlight is an ongoing series highlighting the achievements, hard work, fun details and individual traits that make Monson Savings Bank employees so great!

I am a proud mom of two, a wife, an animal lover, a Boston Bruins Fan, and a banker.

What is your role at Monson Savings Bank and how do you help your customers?

As the Commercial Loan Operations Officer my role is to lead the commercial operation and administration teams as the Bank grows. I work directly with attorneys and customers to help make the process of closing a loan as seamless as possible. I also guide the operations and administration teams, who work directly with our commercial customers,  answering their questions and assisting them with any of their needs.

What do you like most about your position?

Being able to help our customers and their businesses grow and thrive is my favorite part of my position. It's an amazing feeling to watch a new business open and exisiting businesses expand. 

How long have you been with Monson Savings Bank?

I have been with MSB for 9 years, but in commercial banking since 2000.

What are the top things you love about MSB?

  1. We have small bank philosophies and goals, while also having big bank products and services.
  2. The comradery and teamwork within the Commercial Department.  We all work hard to reach the same goal: to help our customers succeed.
  3. The leadership at MSB is amazing. Leaders here truly care about every person at the Bank and want to them to learn and grow in their job and be happy and healthy in their personal life. It's not just a job, it's a family.

How do you feel connected to the local communities?

MSB is very involved in the local communities and often gives me the opportunity to volunteer and meet members of the local businesses, which I very much enjoy because it keeps me connected.

How do you feel at the end of the day after helping customers? 

I am proud to help our customers. It is a great feeling helping a start-up company begin its journey in addition to working with a well-established business looking to grow.  At the end of the day a bank is only as good as their customers and we have the BEST customers!

What are your roots?

I was born and raised in Ludlow, MA. I currently reside in Belchertown, MA.

Tell us about your family or friends and what they mean to you.

My family means the world to me, without them I couldn't imagine where or who I'd be. My husband and I are proud to have a strong work ethic and we both value teaching our children that hard work does pay off.

What values are most important to you to uphold?

Reliability, respectfulness, and honesty.

What are your hobbies?

Baking with my daughter and family hikes with our dogs.

Favorite music?

I don't have a favorite, it all depends on my mood.

Favorite meal?

Pasta (any way, shape or form)
