Straight Talk on Estate Planning, Medicaid Qualification and Medicare Pitfalls

June 7th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m

Monson Savings Bank Corporate, 107 Main Street in Monson

We are holding a complimentary workshop entitled "Straight Talk on Estate Planning, Medicaid Qualification and Medicare Pitfalls", featuring Karen Jackson, Esq., one of our region's leading attorneys specializing in estate planning. Please pass the word to anyone you know who may be interested in this topic.

The event will help people understand what is needed for an effective estate plan and why it's so important. In clear-cut language, Karen will explain the "Big 5" pillars of estate planning — a will, durable power of attorney, health care proxy, HIPAA release, and the living will or advance directive. Significant, costly issues that can occur with Medicare and Medicaid will also be addressed.

Karen Jackson owns her own law firm, Jackson Law, and focuses her practice in the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning, guardianships and estate administration. Ms. Jackson has presented Medicaid planning webinars across the country and teaches at Holyoke Community College. She is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Hampden County, Hampshire Bar Association, Hampden County Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is also currently chair of the Board of Directors for ServiceNet, a charitable Western Massachusetts organization. Ms. Jackson earned her A.B. degree, cum laude, from the University of California at Los Angeles and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, California.

Refreshments will be served. Seating is limited, so please contact Anna Calvenese at 413-267-1221 or send e-mail to to RSVP.
