Monson Savings to Hold Complimentary Workshop: “The Power of Trusts and Life Estate Deeds”
We are holding a complimentary workshop entitled “The Power of Trusts and Life Estate Deeds”, featuring Karen Jackson, Esq., one of our region’s leading attorneys specializing in estate planning. Please pass the word to anyone you know who may be interested in this topic.
The event is designed to help people understand what is needed as far as establishing trusts and life estate planning. Trusts are powerful because numerous goals can be achieved in one legal document. For example, estate taxes can be avoided or minimized, probate administrations eliminated and underage beneficiaries can be protected as well as a person who is receiving public benefits because of a disability. Life Estate Deeds have their own power. They are a simple and affordable way to save a home should you or a loved one eventually want nursing home care with MassHealth payment assistance. This workshop will be held Tuesday, June 20th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Gardens of Wilbraham, 2301 Boston Rd, Wilbraham, MA 01095. It is free and open to the public.
Attorney Jackson has been a practicing Attorney since 1978. Her fields of concentration are Elder Law, including Medicaid planning and MassHealth programs,Estate Planning, Trusts, and Estate Administration.
Attorney Jackson is a working member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Western Massachusetts Elder Professional Association, and the Pioneer Valley Estate Planning Council. Attorney Jackson is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Springfield Estate Planning Council; and, she is Chairman of the Board of ServiceNet, headquartered in Northampton.
Since 2010, Attorney Jackson has been teaching Estate Planning and Elder Law at Holyoke Community College every Fall and Spring; she has conducted bank trainings; she has taught attorneys at various programs, including a national webinar; and she is a guest presenter throughout the year at a variety of conferences.
