Monson Savings Bank recently donated $1,000 to St. Michael’s Players Theatre Group located in East Longmeadow as a result of public votes received through the bank’s 2021 Community Giving Initiative. St. Michael's Players was one of the chosen top ten favorite charitable organizations which resulted in them receiving the donation.

“The East Longmeadow community is that much more vibrant because of organizations like the St. Michael’s Players Musical Theatre Group. We are so happy to continue to support them with this donation and thank Rose and Frank for meeting us at our new East Longmeadow branch location to have a wonderful discussion about our shared passion for arts and theatre,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO. “We look forward to when we can resume attending, in person, the great shows put on by the St. Michael’s Players.”

Since 2005, The St. Michael’s Players Musical Theatre Group of East Longmeadow has produced full scale musicals with a cast and crew of over 100 volunteers. These volunteers direct, construct sets, assemble costumes, rehearse, and stage a musical production, traditionally each autumn. Over the years, St. Michael’s Players has wowed and delighted audience members with various productions of classics, including but not limited to, Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and Seussical the Musical.

“The St. Michael's Players' passion is community, so being able to partner with such a community-focused bank like Monson Savings Bank is icing on the cake,” said Rose Stella, Co-Founder and Director of St. Michael’s Theatre Group. “We can't wait to welcome our community back through our doors and look forward to more partnering in our community!  Thanks, Monson Savings Bank!"
