MSB Employee Spotlight: Corinne E. Sawyer

If you don’t know already, we have amazing employees at Monson Savings Bank and we want you get to know them. The MSB Employee Spotlight is an ongoing series highlighting the achievements, hard work, fun details, and individual traits that make Monson Savings Bank employees so great!

I am a banker, a mom, a grandmother, and an enthusiastic traveler. 

What is your role at Monson Savings Bank and how do you help your customers?

I am the Vice President Director of Business and Municipal Banking here at Monson Savings. I help business owners and municipalities by making banking easy for them. My team and I offer various products and services to make banking and cash management a breeze for our customers. My goal is to take care of my customers’ banking needs so they have time to do what they do best!

What do you like most about your position?

What I like most about my position is that it gives me a new opportunity to help someone every day. I love helping people! I enjoy my customers and all the people I meet along the way. It is a joy to learn about others and their lives.

How long have you been with Monson Savings Bank?

I have worked in banking for 38 years and I have been with Monson Savings Bank for 20 years. 

What are the top things you love about MSB?

What I love about Monson Savings Bank is we are a team here with a common goal, and that goal is: to see our customers succeed. We are, and always have been, all about doing what is best for our customers. I also love that I can count on my fellow MSB teammates for support.

How do you feel connected to the local communities?

I have deep roots in the local communities. I am a Western Massachusetts native and I have lived in Wilbraham for over 35 years. I am extremely committed to seeing the success of young people in our communities and believe that education is essential to their success. I oversee the Monson Savings Bank Scholarship Program, which helps high school graduates offset their college expenses. Additionally, I am a longtime member of the East of the River Chamber of Commerce and a former board member. 

How do you feel at the end of the day after helping customers? 

At the end of my work day I am always filled with gratitude and a sense of fulfillment knowing that I did all I could to help the Bank’s customers.

What are your roots?

I was born and raised in South Hadley. I moved to Wilbraham to raise my children and I still live in Wilbraham today.

Tell us about your family or friends and what they mean to you.

My friends are my family, and my family means everything to me! My children and my grandchildren are my pride and joy, I spend time with them every chance that I get.

What values are most important to you to uphold?

The values that are most important to me to uphold are: honesty, dependability, loyalty, dedication, and hard work.

What are your hobbies?

When I am not working you can find me spending time with my family or traveling.

Favorite music?

I listen to a little bit of everything. My favorite artists are: George Erza, Andrea Bocelli, and Diana Ross.

Favorite meal?

Any type of seafood dish.

Can you play any instruments?

I do not play an instrument.
