Monson Savings Bank has donated $1,000 to the Jubilee Food Cupboard at Trinity Episcopal Church as part of the Bank's Together for Food Security campaign. During October, the Bank's Ware Branch will also serve as a public collection site for nonperishable food donations benefiting the cupboard for the Bank’s Annual Food Drive.
The Jubilee Food Cupboard provides food assistance to Ware residents and also connects visitors with donated clothing and household goods when available. As a community-based pantry, it helps people meet immediate needs within the town where they live and offers a direct point of support during periods of financial strain.
The contribution and Ware branch collection are intended to strengthen the cupboard's ability to maintain pantry supplies and respond to local demand. Customers and community members are welcome to bring eligible donations to the Ware Branch throughout October.
“Local pantries are often the first place a neighbor turns when times are hard,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO of Monson Savings Bank. “The Jubilee Food Cupboard provides that direct, community-based support in Ware. We are proud to partner with such an important local organization and pleased to help strengthen its work.”
The donation is one of several contributions made through Together for Food Security. Across the campaign, Monson Savings Bank is supporting organizations that address food insecurity at different points in the local food system, from neighborhood pantries and mobile markets to food rescue, urban agriculture, and regional distribution.
“This support helped the Ware Jubilee Cupboard to replace broken freezer allowing us to continue providing food and other essentials to neighbors in Ware,” said Cheryl Vaugh, Ware Jubilee Cupboard Pantry Manager. “We are thankful to Monson Savings Bank and to everyone who contributes through the local collection.”
